"Blessed Mother of God, hold us in your bosom!"
The Monument of the Holy Mother is recorded in the Guinness Book of Records as the biggest statue in the world. It was built with honour and respect to the Holy Mother of God the Protectress of the town of Haskovo,Bulgaria.
It was officially opened and dedicated in 2003; made of polymer-concrete, 32 m.in height, weighing 80 tons.
Authors: Petyo Aleksandrov, Nikola Stoyanov and staff.
In 2004 at the foot of the monument the chapel "The Birth of Blessed Virgin Mary" was built. The iconostasis is accomplished by Todor Mirchev.
